The Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) is a coalition of 26 churches serving those in need in our community regardless of their faith.  It was founded in 1967 by a small group of lay people led by Fred & Emily Ruffing, to provide ways for Christians in the area to work together to serve the working poor.  ACCA provides a range of services for the needy.  In FY2010, the core ministries were developmental child care, family emergency assistance, food/nutrition/hygiene, furniture and transportation.

The Food Pantry supplies fresh, frozen, dry and canned goods as well as toilet paper, dish & laundry detergent, soap and diapers for both children and adults.  Referrals come from social workers, schools, Homestretch, the Hispanic Committee of Virginia, ACCA churches, concerned neighbors and other organizations.  In 2010, the ACCA Food Pantry delivered food and other basic necessities for 2859 people in 865 households and 80 families received Holiday Baskets.
