Lifeguards/Operators primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of patrons at Edsall Park Swim Club by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing all pool rules fairly and consistently. Lifeguards are also responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to the management team. Operators ensure proper pool water chemicals, record keeping and maintaining a clean and enjoyable aquatics facility.

Under the supervision of the Board President, performs professional duties in ensuring effective performance of lifeguard functions. Assist in the scheduling, appraising, and discipline of lifeguards. Ensures that life-saving certifications are current and that all lifeguards are fully competent in performing water rescue procedures. Ensures the safety of members in and around the pool by enforcing all safety policies. The Head Lifeguard will work mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

The Edsall Park Swim Club is seeking one experienced Head Coach for the 2015 swim season. The Edsall Park Dolphins is a well-established team located in Springfield, Virginia. We are looking for a motivated individual to lead approximately 50 swimmers of all ability levels in our developmentally competitive summer swim league, as well as coordinate and manage our assistant and junior coaches. Afternoon practices begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day. When public school has ended practices are held in the morning from 9:00 -11:00 Monday-Friday. There may be an opportunity to coach evening practices and provide private swim lessons. Swim Meets are held on Saturday mornings and various Monday and Wednesday evenings throughout Fairfax County until the end of July.
The Dolphin program is committed to providing friendly team competition in a fun, organized and wholesome environment. We aim to inspire a love for the sport of swimming, develop advanced aquatic skills, foster teamwork and promote the principles of good sportsmanship. The team has a dedicated and supportive group of parents who will work very hard to make sure the season is fun and the social events well planned. Our coaches will work closely with the parents to create an enjoyable season for everyone. The qualified candidate is required to have CPR certification and First Aid training. Life Guard certification is highly recommended.
