The Dolphin program is committed to providing friendly team competition in a fun, organized and wholesome environment. We aim to inspire a love for the sport of swimming, develop advanced aquatic skills, foster teamwork and promote the principles of good sportsmanship. The team has a dedicated and supportive group of parents who will work very hard to make sure the season is fun and the social events well planned. Our coaches will work closely with the parents to create an enjoyable season for everyone. EPSC Dolphins is a team on which competition and enjoyment go hand in hand, and it is important to us to find a leader who embrace our culture and traditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• be a high school graduate

• have previous coaching experience

• be proficient in all stroke techniques and able to give instruction and feedback

• have competitive swim team experience

• have strong leadership skills

• be a motivated, enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children and teenagers

• passion for promoting team spirit

• ability to interact with parents, swimmers, and fellow coaches in a professional manner

• liase with Team Representative to prepare meet line-ups, relay teams, etc.

• assist other EPSC Coaches to select and identify swimmers for awards (including Swimmer of the Week end of season Coaches Award)

Attendance at EPSC social events and our year end ceremony awards ceremony is expected.

There may be an opportunity to coach evening practices and provide private swim lessons. Swim Meets are held on Saturday mornings and various Monday and Wednesday evenings throughout Fairfax County until the end of July.

The qualified candidate is required to have CPR certification and First Aid training. Life Guard certification is highly recommended.
